Registration Now Open for the First-Ever History Through Fiction Conference

Today, History Through Fiction is proud to officially open registration for our first-ever writing conference: the History Through Fiction Conference, to be held March 28–29, 2026, at the stunning Wylie Center & Tupper Manor at Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts.

This intimate, groundbreaking event is the culmination of years of growth, experimentation, and passion for a single genre: historical fiction. Founded in 2019 by author and historian Colin Mustful, History Through Fiction began with a mission to close the gap between storytelling and historical accuracy. What started as a solo endeavor has grown into a full-scale traditional and hybrid publishing company, expanding its mission through HTF Publishing (2023), and now through two new genre imprints: HTF Romance and HTF Fantasy.

With that same commitment to quality, transparency, and community, the 2026 conference invites writers, readers, agents, editors, podcasters, and publishers to come together for a one-of-a-kind weekend celebrating the art and impact of historical storytelling.

A Revolutionary Theme

The theme of the 2026 conference is "A Writing Revolution," in honor of the United States Semiquincentennial. We believe storytelling is a revolutionary act. It can challenge prevailing narratives, illuminate the voices history forgot, and connect us across generations and cultures. As historical fiction writers and readers, we have the power to shape how the past is remembered and how the present is understood.

We're thrilled to welcome Finola Austin, author of Brontë's Mistress, as our keynote speaker. Known for her blog The Secret Victorianist and her sharp insight into literature and the publishing world, Finola brings a global perspective to historical fiction rooted in depth, nuance, and voice.

You’ll also hear from internationally bestselling authors such as:
